Who we are

Lisa K. is our Chief Beastie Bestie. With a lifetime of experience with dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles, ferrets, horses, goats, chickens and cows, there’s hardly a beastie Lisa hasn’t taken care of. She’s competed horses since she was a child, exercised polo ponies and had one interesting experience with a cutting horse while working cattle in Wyoming. Currently fur mom to:

  • Lee (a 6-year-old retired Thoroughbred racehorse)

  • Bubbles McGee (a 7-year-old high-anxiety mutt) and

  • Jaxon (18-year-old Jack Russell Terrorist… I mean Terrier).

  • She’s auntie to Maisy May, a high-anxiety, clinically neurodivergent Border Collie mix and Tigger, a ginger cat (need we say more?!?).

Lisa’s cared for animals in homes and on farms, including those in excellent health and those needing significant support while recovering from major surgery or chronic illnesses. While not a trained vet tech, Lisa is comfortable giving medications by mouth, topically as well as injections (both sub-Q and IM).
